CONNECT Asia to support MYREN International Seminar 27-28 July 2010
CONNECT Asia will support MYREN (Malaysian Research & Education Network) International Seminar 27-28 July 2010. Held over 2 days, this seminar will see various speakers from both international and local organizations. Dr. Masami Nakata, representing CONNECT Asia consortium is scheduled to have presentation on first day of the seminar. Meanwhile, CONNECT Asia partners will collaborate in video teleconference discussion with covering topic about the Asian internet.
Bellow is 3 different themes of discussion during the seminar:
Theme 1: Network Consortiums
Presentations from representatives of network consortiums from MYREN and CONNECT-ASIA
Theme 2: Reflection and Vision of Global Internet
Presentations from initiators and Internet Experts of Asian & European Internet and Research Network. This is a Joint collaboration with members of CONNECT-ASIA with most speakers presenting virtually from their home country.
Theme 3: Research Collaborations & Opportunities
This is targeted mainly for MY participants to discuss, formulate collaborative research projects, and showcase ongoing projects with each other. This session could also be used to formalize MYREN Working Groups and/or Birds of Feather (BOF) Groups under the stewardship of the MYREN Research Area Directors. Organized around the subjects of Network Research, IPv6 Research, Virtual Informatics, High Performance Cyber Design, Multimedia, presentations are expected from individual researchers and scientists recognized as leading experts in their respective fields. This session will provide an insight into their work and achievements. This would open opportunities for participants to identify and work toward forging collaborations with them.
